Yesterday the sun had been high in the sky warming the forest below and turning the land into a soggy mess. A few blades of brittle grass dared to peek their little heads through the thick blanket of ice that usually coated the ground giving the normally black and white land an odd splash of color. For once in nearly a hundred years it seemed as if the icy grip winter held on this forest would finally be broken but any of the commoners knew better then to expect the warmth to last, and they were right to think so. The next morning winter displayed its ancient dominance over the area by knocking back the foolish sun and unleashing one of the worst blizzards this region had ever seen. As the storm raged outside all those with half a mind stayed locked away in their cozy little shacks, next to a cozy little fire, while telling their children cozy little bed time stories to make them forget the wails and moans of the gale outside their door.

One of these genius residents was Diana Lynch and although her home was more then a humble cabin and though she had no children to call her own it didn’t stop her from curling up on an oversized cushion next to roaring flames and flipping through a few pages of lovely fairytales from ancient Inida. The pale woman, having built her home her many years ago, was quite used to the sudden violent changes in weather and the unusual racket these storms often made. Closing her book for a moment and raising from the toasty spot by the fire this coal haired witch drifted her way over the floor and to one of her full sized window. White was all she could see besides the faint outlines of a few trees. Of course she would not be able to see anything besides the skeleton forest. Miss Lynch went to great stakes to distance her house from any of the villages and demons nearby. Although she loved crowded streets and packed bars she didn’t feel like having to deal with the worried stares and rude inquires of the village brats about what exactly she was since she was no demon and hadn't been human for so long. The younger ones who couldn't keep their mouths shut were always the one that got on her nerves. Annoyed by the very though of those grubby kids Diana headed back to the overstuffed, emerald pillow her thin hand gripping the worn spine of her favorite book. Turning back the pages she skimmed back to her place in some story about a fisherman who’d stumbled upon a genie. . .

It had been a splendid morning, flying high above the clouds as fast as he could go. In fact Jin had been in such high spirits that morning he decided to venture further than just his quick wake up flight.

Yes he flew toward the Ice plains, Touya had gone on about this place before. Said he liked to train there, and he had also said Jin wouldn't make it in a place like that.

"I'll be showin' that bitter ice man if'n it's the last thing i be doing." Jin finally dipped under the clouds, bracing himself for the colder climates.

He thought he was ready,

He thought it wouldn't be a big deal.

Oh he thought wrong.

The powerful winds and snow blew him out of his course and sent him tumbling to the ground, landing hard in a snow drift.

"Ahhh!" he moaned, pulling his body from the icy wet stuff. "What in the hell!" he shouted, jumping away from it, feet sinking in.

He needed to start thinking about wearing more clothes that was for certain. About 20 feet away he could see the very faint sign of a light. He high tailed it over to the house, and when he finally found the door he didn't stop to knock, he plowed in.

"I'm frozen colder than my mothers knickers after leaving them out all night for the rain and snow to freeze them." he rubbed his bare arms trying to bring back some warmth. "That Touya wasn't kidding when he say it is harsh out in this territory."
